VHC MEMBERSHIP
£20 per year covers essential costs such as organising the events, paying for insurance, and fairly compensating the time and effort of our dedicated team and volunteers.
This yearly fee helps us put on weekly free day hikes across the UK and keep the price down on paid group trips to ensure there’s always affordable access to Vegan Hikers Club.
Memberships also help to ensure the safety of all members and organisers.
By becoming an official Vegan Hikers Club member, you’ll not only forge amazing connections with other like-minded plant-powered people but also contribute to a great cause and help ensure the continued success of our community events!

A MEMBERSHIP GIVES YOU:
- The ability to book onto any of our official Vegan Hikers Club day hikes and group trips. Once you’ve paid for a membership, all day hikes are free and are hosted nearly every weekend throughout the UK. Rather than paying for each individual hike like other groups (which can add up quickly!), we’d rather keep all day hikes free for members, which is way more cost-effective in the long run 😊
Please note that membership does not guarantee a space on each day hike. Tickets will remain free but will be limited for health and safety reasons, to ensure available parking, to make hikes manageable for volunteer leaders, to avoid being too socially overstimulating for those who struggle in large groups, and to prevent being too antisocial to other hikers.
WITHOUT A MEMBERSHIP YOU CAN STILL:
- Join our group chats on WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram to organise your own independent hiking plans with other vegan hikers.
- Buy merch!

Disclaimer
Organisers of hikes in Vegan Hikers Club are NOT qualified guides or mountain leaders and therefore are NOT responsible for anybody or anything that may occur on a walk/event nor can be held responsible for anything that may happen on an event.
The responsibility is on the participant to ensure their own personal safety at all times. We recommend participants fully understand and read the description of each event, bring the correct equipment and assess their own ability/fitness level before attending to reduce the potential of any incidents happening. Please always take the countryside and mountains seriously so that everyone can remain safe and have fun! Photos/videos will be taken at each event and by attending you’re agreeing that you’re happy for these to be shared on social media.
I 100% recommend booking onto a trip with Vegan Hikers Club. And if you’re nervous about coming on your own, then I guarantee you will be greeted by some of the most welcoming, kind and fun people you have ever met (like I did). We all had a fantastic trip to Snowdonia with a couple of great hikes, delicious meals and all-round great times. Will definitely be booking again.
Last weekend I was in a bunkhouse in Snowdonia with a load of new friends having the most wholesome time. I joined Vegan Hikers Club earlier in the year and anxiously attended my first hike in the Lakes, and it is easily one of the best things l’ve ever done. I can honestly say this gang is full of the most incredibly kind and caring people – vegans really are the most beautiful souls! I had conversations that made my soul sing and I left with a beaming smile, excited to see everyone again. Here’s to my other four trips this year! Thanks for creating something special Lucy.
When you set up Vegan Hikers Club, I saw it as an opportunity to get out and explore more of the UK in a space where I wouldn’t have to worry about being around people eating animals or asking me naive questions about why I don’t. I didn’t realise I would be joining one of the most wholesome and welcoming communities. This weekend I’ve laughed until I’ve wheezed, shed more tears (in a good way) than I have in the last decade, and formed several new genuine friendships that I hope will stand the test of time (and distance). It really was magical. In group settings – even with other vegans – it is rare I feel genuinely at home. But this weekend was different. Thank you Lucy and well done for what you’ve created (I’m tearing up as I write this).
I was a little nervous going away with the Vegan Hikers Club as I only knew a couple of people but I’m so glad I did! Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming and it was such an uplifting and inspiring experience.
Hiking Snowdon with this group of fun, compassionate and like-minded people made even the tough parts enjoyable! There were 20 of us in total, with all different fitness levels so I loved that we supported each other and set a pace that allowed us to hike as a group.
In the evenings we came together for games, dressed up as animals (because, why not?), had communal dinners, and shared loads of amazing vegan food! I had deep, meaningful conversations, so much laughter, and felt a real sense of belonging. It wasn’t just about the hike – it was about community, connection, and living our best lives together. I cannot wait to join another and see these absolute beauts again.
